I drank my coffee this morning poring over the many-times-turned pages my The French Laundry Cookbook by Thomas Keller. I have looked at that book and decided the recipes were too much work and too precious for my style, yet my oldest son uses it a lot! This is a recipe from Thomas Keller's The French Laundry cookbook. Arriving 15 minutes early for our 9pm reservation, we waited in the foyer of the rustic brick building, perusing the Bouchon and French Laundry cookbooks on the coffee table. The selections range from The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book (1896)— better known for its author, Fannie Merritt Farmer—to The French Laundry Cookbook (1999), written by celebrity chef Thomas Keller.
